As part of a tight-knit, cross-functional team, I dove into the trenches of iOS development to bring this idea to life. We weren’t just building an app—we were building peace of mind for thousands of professionals worldwide.
My Role: Architecting Intelligence, One Line of Code at a Time
As the lead iOS developer, my responsibilities included:
- Native App Development: Built the app from the ground up using Swift, ensuring a smooth, responsive experience for iPhones across multiple screen sizes.
- Smart OCR Integration: Implemented intelligent OCR (Optical Character Recognition) to scan and extract key data (vendor, amount, tax, date, etc.) from various receipt formats.
- Seamless Integrations: Integrated export functionality with Xero, QuickBooks, and Excel, allowing users to instantly push data to their favorite accounting systems.
- Global Optimization: Tailored receipt recognition for multi-region support, optimizing data capture from English-language receipts across the US, UK, Canada, Australia, and Germany.
- Team Synergy: Worked closely with our backend team to ensure real-time data sync, secure cloud handling, and compliance with region-specific formatting standards.

Final Thought
